Eye-opening presentation you don’t want to miss!  Learn about mental health recovery from people who have had direct experience living with mental illness.

Thursday October 22^th  6:30-8:30pm MINDS ON THE EDGE—Facing Mental Illness

 Special reception, film screening and discussion illuminating the challenging ethical and other issues surrounding treatment of severe mental illness, particularly in situations of persons not recognizing their need for help.  Minds on the Edge connects the dots between agonizing dilemmas facing individuals and families who are living with mental illness, and the obstacles to treatment, and the public policies which all too often lead to prison rather than support for recovery.  The film features a distinguished panel of speakers, including U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, Nobel Prize winning neurologist Eric Kandel, along with attorneys, doctors, legislators and other experts in the field. Several of the panelists have personal, as well as professional experience, in living with mental illness.  FREE to the public.  Refreshments & resources will also be featured.  Certificates of attendance available.   University of Arizona Sierra Vista Campus, Groth Hall Meeting Room.
